• SmartTrash™ Compactor Monitor
Wireless SmartTrash™ System
The Technology
American Trash Management's (ATM) SmartTrash™ hardware is installed on or near the compactor's control panel. The SmartTrash™ System timestamps, records and analyzes all compactor activity: energy utilization, directional valve shifts, safety door switches and the pickup and return of the unit. Then all this data is relayed via wireless network from virtually anywhere in the world to ATM's Data Center. No phone or data lines are necessary.

The Service
Compactor data from SmartTrash™ unit is relayed to ATM's Data Center where it is processed and evaluated by ATM's complex algorithms and a trained technician. SmartTrash™ requires a human interface between the compactor and hauler, because no computer program can consistently project a compactor's optimal pickup time. There are too many data anomalies, unforeseen events and outside factors such as holdays, sales ,weather and trash hauler requirements. That is why ATM combines the latest in technology with the best computer in the world - the human brain - to make the final compactor pickup decision. Once a decision is made, ATM's personnel contact the hauler by phone and/or email or fax to schedule the trash service. This same group is available toll free at 800-48TRASH to troubleshoot problems, dispatch repair services, audit bills and shop for lower waste hauling rates.
The Result
Putting Advanced data telemetry systems in the hands of a trained technician enables SmartTrash™ service to reduce compactor pickups without causing "packouts", expensive weekend or overtime pickups or other hauling problems. Add in all the additional services ATM's technicians provide, and the results is the most sophisticated moneysaving and hassle-reducing trash management service available today.
